Peredmova ‘Я Іду до Тебе’ (I’m coming to you): Transcendent melodic trance into deep waters.

“Transcendent melodic trance, wafting into the deep waters, you calmly console.”

Peredmova is a indie/dream pop duo from Kyiv (Kiev), and with this song, they let us know of their ‘wow’ moment (because we got ‘wow-ed’). The song is roughly translated to ‘I’m Coming For You’, but it’s a fantastic trip into that underbelly beneath what’s contained in both the artists.

And we’re glad we went on for the ride – to at least feel a little, of what’s going on in their heads.

The rhythms are familiar, but un-familiar, at the same time. The articulation of the lyrics are chant-like, with off-notes and participating ‘tribal’ pause notes, the song is a total tease.

We loved it.

The beats oddly eclectic, but very much disciplined and airy. Momentary lapses, keep one ‘off balance’ – letting us know we’re not in this world.

Your weight plunders my soul.
“Come to me, darling”
Remember the battle, upon that hill.
Skin to skin, sink into it.
Announce your arrival, let the environment surround.
For there’s no escape, for the time being.

Vira Pravylo is the vocals for the duo, and the audio from her throat is sultry, enigmatic, sullen, and beautifully attractive. Her vocals compliment Vladyslav’s technical programming and they are in sync.

Their inspirations have been British and American bands from the 1980’s and 90’s, with bands like The Smiths, Neil Young, Saint Etienne, to name a few.

But we think they’ve got their own take on what is good music or not – just because they’ve anchored what (to them) speaks to their personal souls.

Dig.

They’re rep’ed by their own record label, Dobryi Bober.

Kudos, Vira & Vlad. Kudos.

Looking forward to even more.
