Almost August ‘Altered’ : Moment in time when you felt the most free, the most loving, the most successful, the most alive.

Almost August

We’d all like to be there once again. That moment in time when you felt the most free, the most loving, the most successful, the most alive. That’s the feeling that Almost August cooks up so very well in ‘Altered’. The single is a summer nostalgia single from their upcoming debut full length ‘Avoid the Mess’.

The band spawned from a series of remote collaborations between Jamey Cummins in Austin TX and Tony Logan in Iowa City IA. The two childhood friends had formerly been members of the indie rock band Maylane which disbanded after Cummins’ move to Austin in 2012. With Almost August the two channel all of their favorite parts of the indie rock genre with layers of fuzzed out guitars, synths, doubled vocals, and nostalgia soaked lyrics.

It’s the smile and a hug, for the purity of life that we all once owned.

But will there be another time when that same beautiful feeling can be approached again?

‘Altered’ can be that stepping stone.
