Amo Amo ‘Meteor Martyr’ : Instantly gratifying, euphoric compositions.

Amo Amo

LA psych dream-pop band Amo Amo’s Canta EP is out following their debut produced by Jim James of My Morning Jacket. Amo Amo will be donating all EP ‘Canta’ Bandcamp proceeds to Black Lives Matter LA.

Led by queer vocalist Lovelle Femme the quintet was just featured in an Apple ad here (3M+ views) and their collaboration with Poolside was Rolling Stone’s “Song You Need to Know.” They were also the backing band for Karen O and Danger Mouse’s collaboration Lux Prima and have fans from legendary mastering engineer Bob Ludwig (Led Zeppelin, Paul McCartney, Nirvana, Bruce Springsteen, Frank Ocean) to Jenny Eliscu (Rolling Stone, Sirius XM), etc – racking up nearly 3 million plays on Spotify.

Amo Amo formed in June 2017 when a group of dear friends – the aforementioned Omar and Love, along with Justin, Shane and Alex – got together for an impromptu session in Los Angeles with Jim James (My Morning Jacket). There had been a premonition that the five of them shared a sort of psychic bond that would lead to a revelation in sound. James proved the right ferryman to take them across the creative river to where the revelatory, mystic moment awaited. And now, they too invite us to the other side of The River.

Their instantly gratifying, euphoric compositions seem laser-focused on bringing a mess of humans into a space and getting them to move together like a single, pulsating organism.

Latest EP ‘Canta’ is out now.
