Avantist will be releasing their new S/T debut album April 13 and with that, this weird and twisted and artsy rock music video of the single ‘Red Bible’ is shared. And well, we’re weirded out, and our stomachs were a bit twisted – in a good way.
The video features Adrián Terrazas-Gonzáles of ‘The Mars Volta’ on saxophone, which envelopes the single in a separate level of layers, thoughts, feelings, emotions. This happens with just only one bar worth of notes. The contrast of the rock half of the song, then the short soft and jazzy ambience, secures the song’s distinction.
The band has a follow-up EP coming in early summer, 2018.
“An avantist by definition is to be an avant-gardist; to emphasize, practice, and celebrate experimental and unorthodox methods and techniques, and to incorporate this into a craft.”
The new Avantist S/T record has been long in the making. The project started in June of 2014. The labor of love now comes to when it will bear fruit.
The full 11 track album will tell the band’s story and history including family, love, and of course, loss. In the whole scheme of things, there should be a line of understanding and triumph. No matter how small, or slight.
A victory, is a victory.
It helps you to progress.
That’s what Avantist is all about.
They’re rep’ed by No Trend Records.
