Zimbabwean-born, Newcastle-based Art-P brings a joyful exploration to pop. His exuberant delivery is unbridled in this celebration of song and self. Beyoutiful is a bold and expansive introduction to this young artist. Said Art-P: “I needed this EP to be an experience, for no song to sound the same or have the same message…I want this EP to be the corner stone to something special. I want people to feel everything I put in there.” This single was recorded and produced with collaborator Rhys Zacher, at his studio, Spinlight Studios. Across RnB, HipHop, some rock n roll and traditional Zimbabwean choral parts.
höneylip – Brain Candy
“This is our second single. Though it’s an upbeat song, ‘Brain Candy’ touches on the serious topic of being able to accept help for your mental health from the people who love you.” New band, new addition to life, new and exciting ambitions. höneylip is that project for the band, and with sweet tasting pop single ‘Brain Candy’, you’re stuck in golden ambers of sugary necter, feeling guilty, but dancing at the same time. Your knees don’t move that way, usually?? There’s always a first. The anthemic and stadium vibin’ single is a radio beckoning pop tune. Let’s see where they go from here, shall we?
EmmaDop – Uppercut
Aarhus based pop group EmmaDop was one of our Song Of The Day prior. Earbop, with immediate connection, the single is the trio’s ambition for cool beats and choruses that just makes sense. The shimmer and expertise are inspired by bands like Little Dragon, Emma Pi and Spleen United. The retro pop keys do not go untouched when EmmaDop interprets love with an uppercut; bouncy bass, high energy, a strong vocal and a synth theme that will make you bob your head and cause a smile. Line Ammitzboell Søndergaard is joined by her bandmates, Anton Radmer and Ole Larsen. Their fabulous journey continues and continues with absolute momentum. See them next @ Radar, Aarhus Denmark October 25th.
On-The-Go – Never Enough
Following their previous single ‘The Quiet Life’ released only in September, Russian On-The-Go releases the next track ‘Never Enough’. The band stated that the song is: “about the inevitability of ups and downs, about the need for personal space and the experience of being apart followed by the joy of coming back. This song is about how incredible and at the same time difficult it is to love one another.” Bound by the talents of Yura Makarychev, Maxim Makarychev, Zhenya Merkushev, Dima Midborn, and Grisha Dobrynin, the shimmering goodness radiate with comfort and affection. Originating from Togliatti back in 2008 (Moscow since 2010), On-The-Go is a group of Russian musicians, who make the western-influenced music in style and adoration. Mixing with their own experiences, the mix is a conjoining of art and cultures, deliberating in fabulous fun vibes and friendships developed.
