City Calm Down Throws it Down With ‘Joan, I’m Disappearing’ (Live Session Video).

We said this about City Calm Down’s ‘Joan, I’m Disappearing’ music video off of the upcoming April 6th album, ‘Echoes in Blue’, when it debuted: “The heavy hearted vocals in tune with the emotive digital sounds and atmosphere, beautifully suspects the continuity in human angers, confusion, loneliness, relegation to nothingness. The video is handsomely done with short-film expertise – telling of a story, that might or might not have happened millions of times through time.”

That is continued in this dark villa of a live session video, accompanying the melancholic disparation of the original music video.

Soon, the band will visit the UK where they will perform at The Great Escape Festival, Gold Sounds as well as headline shows across the country.

‘Joan, I’m Disappearing’ follows on perfectly from the recent release of ‘In This Modern Land’ late last year.

“‘Joan…’ is about coming to terms with the dissolution of a long-term relationship and how neglect ultimately led to its breakdown.” Jack Bourke explained of the new single.

The new LP matters. We’re confident.

“Echoes In Blue is not concerned with answering questions as much as it is with asking them. It is interested in the reality of being spread too thin, of being unable to shut out the noise, where we’re told to buy a house, with a mountain of debt, and do what we love, to be passionate and driven, whilst also making enough time for our wife or husband, boyfriend or girlfriend, for our children, parents and friends. Has life ever been more exciting or more artificial? Why are we so connected yet feel so alone? Perhaps, in all this excitement, we forget to be bored and examine ourselves a little more closely. Or maybe we should just embrace the rage.”

Kudos.
