Courtney Barnett announces Newport Folk Festival Date (Rhode Island)

Courtney Barnett and her band have been announced for Newport Folk Festival and a bunch of other awesome festivals. More announcements are to coming our way, the label stated. Can’t wait.

The festival takes place on July 27-29. However, it’s already been sold out.

Courtney Barnett puts a lot of effort into sounding effortless. Her songs are wild and wooly and wordy, her lyrics plainspoken and delivered like she’s making them up on the spot. In 2012 Courtney started Milk! Records and released her debut EP I’ve Got A Friend Called Emily Ferris. Her second EP How To Carve A Carrot Into A Rose (2013) received international acclaim, taking her and the band, Dave Mudie (drums), Bones Sloane (bass) and Dan Luscombe (guitar) all around the world. In 2014 her EP’s were re-released as The Double EP: A Sea Of Split Peas.

Also, end of 2017, Courtney did a thing with Kurt Vile to critical acclaim. T’was delightful, for sure.

Ok, she’s rep’ed by Milk! Recordings (her own label), working hard from Melbourne. This is the label where one of our fave bedroom-pop artist, Hachiku, publishes too.

Tour dates so far.
