DAMON ISAAC SMITH is a pianist, singer/songwriter, and composer. The graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music, he performs, as he always should. Splitting his time from New York City and Boston, he’s played venues to keep his works sharp and more importantly, beautifully manicured. The beautifully 60’s vocals and attitude of his productions, keeps us at our seat edges, with anticipating heartaches and love’s stories in promises proposed.
‘Only Love’ is lush. The decadent scent of aromatics, is a part of Damon’s album ‘God Of The Grid’.
And what the single does it to keep a vaunted eye on the ‘string arrangements’ as Damon puts it, and deliberately whooshes our hearts, in a parallel snow-driven Universe. There we lie, as our refreshed souls, delve ever deeper into where we are, and where we’re going.
It’s that outrageous reflection, that makes us swoon with this love ballad.
Damon takes cues from bands like Dirty Projectors, Vampire Weekend, and Nico, but he’s got his own thing going on, which is a fabulous addition to this wide and ever growing musical tapestry.
The song features string players from the prestigious Curtis Institute.
