Display Homes’ song, Men is a diabolically understated slap of punk-pop, that easily creeps up the back of one’s neck and bites. The song is delivered in a haze of flat notes, grouped in a goose step of military dips. If you get what we mean, that means you get what we mean.
Noisey reviewed and hung out with Display Homes for their song Climate Change, and seems (at least regarding the music) comes to similar conclusions.
To us here at CHF (we’ve stated this many a times), we love music like this, Frankenstein effect of a song called Men.
Actually we adore it, for it’s so fun. Yea, you heard right. It’s fun. And if it’s boiled down to the essence, being fun means it’s enjoyable. Being enjoyable, means we can caress it more. Be caress-ably soft means we can make love to it (figuratively of course).
We haven’t seen Display Homes live but we’re sure they’re definitely fun to see in person.
Now, where are those flight tickets to Sydney??
Oh that’s right. Not in the budget.
Well, we can listen to them from afar, at least.
They’re managed by Tough Love Records.
