Ebony Buckle is a London-based singer/songwriter. Hailing from the seaside town of Townsville, Australia music was soon entrenched into her young existence, influenced by her parents and from her beckoning desire to sing out.
Taking listeners on a whimsical left-field-pop journey with her complex harmonies and imaginative storytelling lyricism, Buckle sings about topics covering everything from romance and broken hearts to disgruntled mermaids, lonely whales and alien invasion.
Ebony said: “I am a naturally shy person and sometimes find it hard to be myself in front of other people, but music has really helped me connect to my true self. I feel like the songs I write come straight from my brain and they are a true expression of who I am”.
Regina Spektor meets Kate Bush, Ebony’s style is all that and a jar of freshly made strawberry jam. And just like the goodness of an immediately made jam that your grandma would give you thumbs up for, Ebony’s songs are sticky, tasty, charming, aromatic, and most of all, can be consumed with almost any kind of angle of your life.
Ebony is a singer/songwriter and actor in London with a flare for the dramatic.
‘Susan’ is a song about an imaginary best friend called ‘Susan the Raptor’. But unlike ‘Susan The Raptor’, Ebony knows her scales and knows just how to make things so much fun.
Guess that’s why ‘Susan The Raptor’ hangs out with her, eh?
Ebony added: “I hope it inspires people to be true to who they are. To not be afraid of being different and to know it’s ok to express themselves”.
Right on, sister!
