February 9th: Doc Watson – Live At Club 47

Folk. We love folk. Who doesn’t? Well, that’s an over-reach, but it surely is a fab segment of music. We sure dig it.

The gang at YepRoc Records will be taking pre-orders for a live recording session Doc did in 1963. On February 9th, through our partnership with the Southern Folklife Collection, a never before released Doc Watson live performance is to be released.

Here’s what YepRoc says about it:
Released as part of the partnership between Yep Roc Records and The Southern Folklife Collection, Live At Club 47 features a never before heard live performance by Doc Watson, recorded live at Club 47 (now known as Club Passim) in Cambridge, MA in 1963 at the beginning of his solo career. The album features 4 previously unreleased songs from Doc’s early performing repertoire. The February 9th CD street date celebrates almost 55 years to the day of the original performance.

CHF isn’t a folk music central, by any means, but we love the art form. We’re always happy to announce such info, for sure.
