‘The Prize’ is the second single from ‘Aphelion’, the new album due out later this year. “It is rather special being the last track we worked on with people in a room together and the first song we have ever made with a main vocal singing a top line throughout.”
“Together again with Lorraine Hansberry we are essentially encouraging everyone to exercise as much empathy and critical thinking as possible. We’d like to instill a little more hope and determination in listeners to get through these tough times together and build a better future beyond. The line ‘keep your eyes on the prize’ echoes a phrase used during the Civil Rights Movement that was etched into my own psyche growing up. Affirmations can be powerful at times.”
‘The Prize’ follows on the heels of ‘Concrete Things’ (March 30) which was made The Huey Show’s Beat of the Week on BBC 6 Music, played by Gideon Coe & Tom Robinson, featured by Indie Shuffle, #2 on Hype Machine and a track of the week on Amazing Radio.
Seth Mowshowitz heads Fold, which is a Leeds based collective exploring different ways in which narratives & poetry can be woven into music. They aim to honestly reflect the world of today, to speak truth clearly, and to represent diverse perspectives.
