Frederick The Younger Shares New Single ‘Human Child II’. A definitive way to say, pay attention to yourself.

That first bar got to us. Like a ‘open mouth drooling’ kind of thing that happened as we increased the speaker volume. The psychedelic folk story telling style of the song, coupled with Jenni’s gently weeping vocals, just is delectable. Frederick The Younger’s ‘Human Child II’ is in contrast, a whipping of the boy that lives within and will not expand its outlook, no matter how compelling the world might be.

Heck yea.

The Louisville based acclaimed psych-pop band Frederick The Younger is hitting the road in support of Houndmouth in April. And like they should, are supporting the trip with this ‘fantastical’ diddy ‘Human Child II’. And yes, there is a previous single named ‘Human Child’, which came out in February.

‘Vintage style’ is certainly a given with the presentation of FTY’s songs. But underneath that hood, is that roaring engine of fire and brimstone 70’s rock that is bubbling to grab you and tell you to ‘look up here at my eyes’. It’s that kind of sudden impact and surprise the band has on the audience. Yep. Just like getting caught looking at the wrong place.

That cold sweat feeling. And the initial ‘freeze’.

But FTY says, ‘close your eyes now. And listen. We’ll hang with you.’

Weirdly, very awkward, but satisfying at the same time?

The band consists of: Jenni Cochran, Aaron Craker, Jake Hellman and Dave Givan.
