Fur Echo ‘Standing Alone’ : An appreciation deserving of a life withstanding against this unfair world.

Fur Echo

Standing Alone is the first release from new indie / experimental project Fur Echo. Singer/songwriter and producer Marcus Pike, based loosely around a condition known as synesthesia – (specifically the idea of seeing music as colors), amplifies his desires for expression through his words and indelible vocal expressions.

“‘Standing Alone’ is a song about isolation, a lack of confidence in one’s place in the world – quite appropriate for the times we currently find ourselves in,” said Marcus. “It’s about the knife-edge that separates the crushing and crippling curse of stagnation, from a single moment of inspiration which can lead to great and magical things.”

A metaphor for the artist’s journey over the last two or three years, as he has gone through some amount of artistic turmoil in his home studio, producing the many-faced series of 20 songs which are to become the ‘Dark Colours’ collection.

‘Standing ‘Lone’s quality is fully realized in the folds of the care that Marcus puts in each word. When sung, a definite pull of anxiety and the possible triumphs, engorge the listening ears with grand appreciation for a betterment for ourselves.

An appreciation deserving of a life withstanding against this unfair world.

As you may be aware, I have the first Fur Echo song coming out this Thursday. It's been a big journey to get to this point, having not released music for 2.5 years, and the battle has mainly been against myself, overthinking and crippling perfectionism meaning I lost touch with some of the essence and beautiful simplicity of the songwriting and the initial vision. I'm sure that you'll be able to relate to some of this, especially in this challenging time. However, in that time I've also learnt some invaluable lessons + skills, played about 400 gigs, and got a hell of a lot of music recorded! The Dark Colours project, a series of 20 songs, has become a bit of a stew of different fragments and styles, and yeah it should probably have been finished a year or more ago, but we are where we are, and I'm really happy with what's come out of it! All of which is to say, if you've got a moment to give Standing Alone a quick listen when it comes out this Thursday, or whenever, follow Fur Echo on Spotify, and/or join the mailing list (click the link to website in bio) to stay in the loop, it would mean a lot. There are loads of people suffering at the moment for various reasons, not least professionals in the arts and music industry, so if anyone out there wants me to share their song, lend some professional advice, or just have a chat, I'd be more than happy, just drop me a DM! Thanks to anyone who got to the end of this rambling and take care xx Marcus . . . #mondaymusic #musicmonday #mondaymusicmotivation #newmusicmonday #mentalhealthawarenessweek #newmusiccomingsoon #newmusiciscoming #newmusician #dayinthelifeofmusic #instagood #musicismytherapy #newrelease #newmusicrelease #newmusicalert #newmusic2020 #indieartists #singersongwriter #acousticmusic #acousticguitar #musicportrait
