Greg Jamie – This Life

0

Greg Jamie’s This Life comes through the highly vexing, and complicated vocals of the artist. And there’s no surprise, to see such complexities with in this song.

O’Death’s guitarist and songwriter comes at us with a blustering treble of contrasts and exclamations. The folk stylistics of the song is dark, and ominous – traditionally spacing its rhythms, goose-step, by goose-step.

It’s organized, and in large military squares, marching towards that one horizon.

The weight of the north east is crouched on top of the broad shoulders of this Maine artist.

Jamie’s vocal grandeurs are majestic and vast, constructively throwing around its consistent and forthright energy. Just in his voice, it’s an adventure.

The song is still a folk song. It still has the theme accompanying much of folk. It resonates with many heartstrings, and breaks them when captivated enough.

We guess, this being Jamie’s first solo effort, it might be something of an isolated capsule – lonely travel, for millions of virtual years.

It’s beautiful, ultimately.

And from what ‘This Life’ has demonstrated, the album should be a fabulous body of work.

Kudos.

His new and first album, ‘Crazy Time’ will drop on January 19th, 2018.

He’s rep’ed by Orindal Records, out of Chicago.
