Hayden Everett’s single, ‘Kennecott’ tells the story of a now abandoned Alaskan mining town from the early 1900’s.
Written from the perspective of the town, it is a letter to those who “failed to appreciate and protect its beauty”.
Hayden’s music, grand yet intimate, lathers into a vibe of acceptance and of ultimate love. Of predicting the vastness of a life – stuck on a planet – doing its best to survive and to thrive in contentment.
A soul – maybe your soul – looking for that permanence that may not be. But continuing to seek.
Hayden is a musician and artist, as well as a passionate backpacker, climber and student of ethnomusicology. And he seeks out through those collections of knowledge and memories, to connect with our own inklings and suppositions.
Lovely indeed.
