HMS Morris Shares ‘Mother’. “Entertainment’ Like Aliens From Planet Zartan? Oh, Heck Yea.”

This Welsh dynamo of a trio is so COOL. We wanna be them. We want them to be our best friends. BFFs. Like today. Tonight. Why? Becaus (1) listening to ‘Mother’ drives you to that weird place that you wanted to go visit for a weekend, then you stay for a whole week (just like visiting Las Vegas during convention month). (2) It’s apparent that they are Aliens from another planet and their mission is to kick our brains to pulp sonically, so they can study them in their DIY science room, within their decked out latest model space ship (probably like the BMW of their planet). And lastly, (3) HELEDD’s vocals are to die for – it’s odd, it’s weird, it’s glorious.

The humor and talent just exudes out of these three. Demonstrated fabulously in ‘Mother’.

‘Avant-garde’. Surely.

‘Colorful’. Heck yes.

‘Humorous’. More than enough.

‘Sexy’? We’ll put that to the ‘yay’ column.

‘Punk’? Punk-like attitude, for sure.

‘Entertainment’ like Aliens from planet Zartan? Oh, heck yea.

The band consists of Heledd Watkins, Sam Roberts, and Alex Møller.

The song basically was Heledd wanting to ‘kidnap a jazz saxophonist named ‘Oscar’ (from Canada) and take hime to Wales where she’d ‘mother’ him to death.’ Oh the humanity, Heledd.

HMS Morris’ second album ‘Inspirational Talks’ drops September 21st.

Catch the fever.
