Emerging markets, like India, has played a significant roll in Chinese smartphone brands to take big bites out of traditional smartphone leaders.
Huawei, Vivo, Oppo, Xiaomi (all Chinese brands) have worked hard to gain footholds in India and the like. However, the common weakness of these brands is not owning a “breakout” product, like Apple’s iPhone tag.
In accordance with the sales progression of the Chinese brands, Google’s Android smartphone platform leads the way. The two, 5 Ton gorillas in this space are Android and Apple’s iOS.
