Hugh Hefter was an American men’s lifestyle magazine publisher, businessman. His biggest success in business has been his founding of Playboy Magazine and Playboy Enterprises. At his death, he was worth around $40 million.
He’d been a deep part of the social development and discussion in the 50’s to the 90’s. Hefner died at his home in Beverly Hills, California.
He and his contemporaries were hated by conservatives and the like, throughout his business and personal career. At the same time, society celebrated his business’ existence and anomaly.
Out of financial difficulties as a public company, Hefner took Playboy Enterprises back to a private company in 2011.
