Jaguar Jonze’s (Deena Lynch) debut EP ‘Diamonds & Liquid Gold’ includes previously released singles ‘Rabbit Hole’, ‘Beijing Baby’, ‘You Got Left Behind’ and “’Kill Me With Your Love’ – as well title track ‘Diamonds & Liquid Gold’ and EP ‘Rising Sun’. The EP is the musical output of a multi-dimensional creative that uses art to confront shame and taboos. Known for her adjacent projects – the narrative illustrations of Spectator Jonze and gender-subverting photography of Dusky Jonze – as Jaguar.
Explains Deena: “Everything I do stems from the need for dialogue – Jaguar being an internal dialogue with my subconscious, Spectator being an external dialogue with others on mental health and the mind and Dusky being a dialogue with the body.”
The visual art project is based on mental health. Deena interviews each subject on what they’re willing to share, breaking the stigma around mental health. The photo project is similar except it’s more to do with masculinity, femininity, insecurities and taboos around the body – they’re all nude shoots usually shot in their safe spaces. The project started off with Deena just shooting male photographers and flipping the lens onto them as they break down the structures of toxic masculinity, but it’s kind of evolved since then. In the past, she had been a super guarded, but recently found herself becoming more of a mental health advocate and slowly, but surely talking about her own struggles and experiences.
“Everything I do stems from the need for dialogue – Jaguar being an internal dialogue with my subconscious, Spectator being an external dialogue with others on mental health and the mind and Dusky being a dialogue with the body.”

I’ve been receiving messages from people who were curious on the symptoms, so these were mine: ⁃Fever🔥 ⁃Aches🤒 ⁃Chills❄️ ⁃Sore throat👹 ⁃Chesty cough😷 ⁃Diarrhoea 💩😈 ⁃Headaches🤕 ⁃Mild chest pains💔 ⁃Hectic fatigue😴 I am now at Day 10 and doing really well with only a chesty cough and fatigue as my remaining symptoms. I am a virtual hospital patient (which has been such a great initiative), which means I check in with a nurse over video conference twice a day and leave beds for those who are in a more dire situation. I am wearing a temperature tracker around the clock and also have a wireless vital signs reader which feeds data to the hospital. There are alerts set up for close monitoring. Really cool technology that I haven’t come across before. I keep this up until I have no COVID-19 symptoms for at least 3 days, then I can be discharged. Swipe right to see it more in detail or explained in stories. Otherwise, thank you to everyone for the kind wishes, I’m starting to feel a lot more myself. I’ve been working on something for you guys to pass the time so keep a close eye! 😻❤️ #covid_19
