JR JR ‘The Gambler’ : Don’t gamble when mother nature says otherwise. The evidence is right there.

‘Detroit duo JR JR (Josh Epstein and Daniel Zott) brings ‘The Gambler’. Following last month’s ‘August and Everything Prior’ EP, their plans for North American touring was scuttled by COVID-19. But as musicians do, they simply did what musicians do: create new music.

“We were put up in a truly depressing casino, which featured an oxygen/IV fluid bar in the lobby, next to a tattoo parlor. The hotel’s all-you-can-eat buffet was highly worrisome to me as a germ spreading nightmare (and COVID-19 wasn’t even a thought yet). After refusing to pay fees for leisurely activities “out of principle,” Josh wound up taking “the photo we’re using for this single’s cover in what used to be the horse racing portion of the casino, which seemed to have been abandoned since the early 2000s. Immediately after taking the photo, I had what I can only describe as a 14-hour panic attack until we left a full day early.”

Prior to pairing up, the twosome had been searching for a creatively fluid situation where they could pool their talents as songwriters, singers, multi-instrumentalists, and producers. Since joining forces, Epstein and Zott have released four albums, five EPs, and several standalone singles.
