JW Francis ‘New York’ : Sultry uplift that anyone can appreciate.

JW Francis

“This song is an ode to the city I live in. It’s about feeling frustration but also inspiration. The video was recorded during quarantine, so we had to get creative.”

Born in Tulsa Oklahoma, raised in Paris, France, and now based in New York City, JW Francis brings a warm, affable vibe to frigid New York.

JW Francis loves life. Well, at least that’s what we take out of his music. How can you be so cynically positive about life’s lyrics, without really being such a case? The perfectness of his bedroom-pop style is the sultry uplift that anyone can appreciate. With jangly-style casts of shade spread throughout.

Here is a very big announcement: I have been signed to a record label called @sundaybestrecs ! For pretty much my whole life it has been my dream to be 'signed' even when I didn't know what that meant, and even when people said that it doesn't make sense in today’s world. Now I have started a beautiful relationship with a British label and they are so lovely and we're gonna release albums together, and I can finally drop all of the music I've been working on for so long, starting with a song I’ve released today called ‘New York’ All that said, I want to get this new phase started RIGHT, and to be open and honest, and honestly I cannot release music right now with out explicitly acknowledging the debt that myself and the whole music industry owes to Black Culture. For this reason I'm giving 100% of anything I make off of this song to @theokraproject and will continually be looking for ways I can be a better ally. I'm very open to suggestions if you want to hit me up, and in any case I love you, I'm so beyond excited, there's going to be even more exciting news in the future and YAYYYYYYYY this drawing is by @smoothjasisonline all my music is produced by @sahil_ansari and the video for this song is by I love you

Kat Koan ‘Silly Me’ : Critical level where the urge to express herself, and seems nothing can stop her.

Michaela Slinger ‘Tarot’ : “Lots of uninhibited, curious experimentation happened.” All for a purpose. Now is the time.
