‘Elizabeth’ is the new single of Kill Your Boyfriend. And its industrial grating and its palpitating mass of goodness, hits you like the glowing sun, with massive induction in power and seduction.
The band, which formed in Venice, Italy (2011), is a collaboration between singer/guitarist Matteo Scarpa and drummer Antonio Angeli. The dark angst, driven by the undertow of what’s just underneath that dark vail of hopes and dreams, comes bulging out of the skin of this fabulous project.
Over the past few years they released a number of singles and an LP, touring all across Europe and sharing stages with Zola Jesus, KVB, Civil Civic and Zu.
Asked to describe their own sound in an interview, the band more simply defined it as “a killer that came in the night, violent and cold”.
Don’t fret though. They make music. And that’s all they do.
Or do they?
Nay. We think Kill Your Boyfriend, successfully kills your previous notions of what ‘music’ should be.
And the thing is? Is that you like how it feels.
You like how ‘Elizabeth’, feels.
