Reflective in its truths, KUMA delineates the beckoning into folds of drizzly vibes and the unknown. ‘That Something’ is an open truth in clashing emotions.
Said KUMA: “I wrote ‘That Something’ after reflecting on one of my past relationships and how it had started to become more complex, in a bad way. When you’re with someone, there has to be this un-characterizable energy between the two of you for it to work. I don’t know if there is a specific word for it and I didn’t know exactly how to articulate it then.”
Pain and sorrow, meeting in a collision with happiness and the unpredictable.
“My vision for the song was to allow my listeners to feel my emotions and my pain through the lyrics. I wanted the beat to play a secondary role so that the listeners could really take in what I was saying. The lessons I’d hope others gain from listening is that a relationship is a team effort, not a solo undertaking and sometimes the thing that’s missing just isn’t tangible.”
Swinging in dripping suppositions, you writhe with purpose in this world.
