Returning after the ominously beautiful single ‘Mateo’, French singer/songwriter LIAN RAY’s vision for the emotionally macabre and unsettling underbelly of human emotions, comes to light in ‘Rose’ once more.
We’d described ‘Mateo’ as a ‘gem’ of a single with a ‘palpable absolution through impinging guilts, masochistic nuances, and beautifully dark aromas of sound’. With ‘Rose’, Lian continues his thrust into the international scene with that invertible cinematic sheen that he wants to project through his project.
The ‘centerpiece’ title track is the main thrust for the new upcoming album for Lian. And with this album, he’s reliving his past in those darker days in Berlin, where he’d fought many demons, including substance abuse and an insatiably lonely and beckoning heart. His love for the moments of relationships, destructive at times, were in his eyes, still a beautifully enigmatic and soul defining slivers of time and space.
Now in a better place, mind and soul, he journeys to understand his past, in the hopes of building for the betterment.
Utilizing an ‘hommage’ concept, ‘Rose’ the single pushes the edges with a loose assertion in ‘ultra-French’ vibing sound of Melody Nelson by Serge Gainsbourg
See Lian next on September 9th, @ Skek, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
