“Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.”
That was the start of the Emancipation Proclamation, written and spoken by Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States. He ultimately saw through the biggest war the US had/has ever been involved (the Civil War had an estimated death range between 700,000 ~ 1,000,000 deaths), and kept the Union intact.
He’s a legend in many people’s eyes, and that’s why this kind of stuff pops up now and again.
It’s just cool to be a hero.
