The transigent and neglectful mother of a hog, sat down at the corner of the street. Licking her ice cream melting stream of orange sorbet down the length of the wrist, made the warm winters in her mind, turn to admire the summer of her reality. The gleeful and most undeniably ignorant son of a ruckus, dangled the string with meat of nothing, in front of the alley cat – writhin’, profilin’, and stylin’ to a degree not accustomed to a liberal arts education.
‘Specs’ is our Song Of The Day!
Lithic’s brings this odd and ‘off’ rendition of Ren & Stimpy-esque melodrama of a song, diced and re-bound by the essence of the Universal attitude that is the DNA of Lithics.
The song is just tremendously fun, and exciting to listen to.
The shining demonstration of utilizing odds and ends of notes and aims, to bring harmony to an otherwise potential cacophonous lists of unintelligible endings.
“‘On a grey winter morning Lithics used a handheld video camera to shoot scenes of themselves pretending to play music, walking around a reservoir, blowing their noses etc, and synced it to the song “Specs.” It was easy, literally anyone could have done it.'”
Know thy self. Be curious. Don’t be psychotic, if you can help it.
‘Mating Surfaces’ is the sophomore LP effort from the band. 12 songs, all drizzled in their essence. Guitars, rhythms, lyrics, heavy bass, heavy digital, off beat – beaten into your head. It continues the journey started by their first album ‘Borrowed Floors’.
We dig it, some more.
