Lizzy & the Fanatics ‘Middle Child’ : Charming and effervescent. Delivers much needed sweetness and embrace.

Lizzy & The Fanatics

Montreal’s dream-pop crew, Lizzy and the Fanatic, lives up to their vibes and pulls up for our inhibitions, ‘Middle Child’. The single combines pop hooks, 80’s nostalgia, and storytelling to create a fun and comforting feeling.

Lizzy wrote this dreamy synth-driven indie-pop song after watching the 1995 movie Welcome to the Doll House.

In this movie, the main character Dawn is a middle child who struggles for love and attention. Like this movie, the song encapsulates the coming of age feeling of wanting attention and dreaming about being ”the only one”. The song is sad at times but resolves into an upbeat synth solo that goes into the last verse – celebrating all of the character’s dreams and desires.

Lizzy & the Fanatic’s upcoming EP ‘Perfect World’ drops June 20th.

Added Lizzy of the event: “Don’t miss our EP Livestream Launch Saturday at 5pm-6pm east on YouTube or Facebook. We won’t be the full band of wonderful humans pictured on here because of covid restrictions, but Amelie and I prepared a fun duo show for y’all.”

Charming and effervescent, Lizzy and the gang, delivers much needed sweetness and embrace.
