Abdul Wali Muhammad suing Chance the Rapper for alleged copyright infringement on “Windows”

We at CHF don’t go into other genres, but music news and especially music news under the “law” segment is something we love to examine. And we think it should be scanned, because Copyright infringement is always a issue heavy on artists’ and labels’ minds.

The interesting part of this suit by Abdul Wali Muhammad (formerly Eric P. Saunders) a jazz musician who says that he had written the song Bridge Through Time (for Lonnie Liston Smith in 1979), seems to have very familiar and close notes with Chance The Rapper’s song Windows.

Interesting. Well, this will be a long fight in the courts, for sure.

Bridge Through Time, by Lonnie Liston Smith
