‘Wild’ is a fascinating single. It’s pop. It’s rock. It’s kinda new wave in parts. And when LOU’s vocals are thrown into that mix, it’s a bond fire of existential rudimentaries – kicking you up and down your skinny butt.
The baritone vocals of LOU is the key here. It’s always been this way. The fascination of the low key voice, is very magnetic and attractive. It compliments the kind of ‘soul searching’ that a song can mandate.
In this case, it’s the description of how her aunt was in life. The quirks, the oddity, the humanity of what her aunt represented, are ingrained into the lyrics and memories.
There’s no getting around it really.
And there’s no apologizing for the way the song is done, either.
We think that is such a cool thing to pull off, that we’re kinda jealous.
Anywho, ‘Wild’ is an interesting song, and you should dig it – just like we did.
