Magic Potion’s Rest Yr Skull is a collage made to order – a Stockholm, bright sky, trip to the known-depths of human idiosyncrasies and a contrasting uncaring-empathy.
The song is presented as a slacker anthem influenced garage band lunch menu. However, the lyrics and vocals of Gustaf Montelius, calms our listening ears – making sure that it is certainly the opposite of what it really feels like.
The gonja-slash-90’s atmosphere of the song can transport one to another “Weezer-like” realm, which is never forgotten, but at the same time had been kind-of forgotten, in recent years.
The drama of the song is quaint, serene, full of appeal – and we like. The strength of it IS its attributes noted above, and plus that of its overall experience in “re-discovery”.
Thanks Magic Potion.
The Scandinavians somehow know how to rock it. These guys continue that road trip forward.
