‘Noise’ is the 2nd song released by the Japanese track-maker Makoto Nagata. Drawing on influences from IDM , ambient and alternative genres, ‘Noise’ paints a whole scenario based on a main steady drum beat, back-upped by a stream of melodies.
Makoto said: “It pictures the change in your heart when you try to face your own negative feelings, not only in a unique scene but in a multitude of sceneries overlapping. The song is a kaleidoscope, whose image changes depending on the person who listens to it”.
While he started only this year to release under his own name, he has been active in the Japanese music scene for few years as the composer of the unit Opus Inn and as support member of the indie band, The fin.
‘Noise’ isn’t about noise. It’s a solemn vision for what’s just underneath. Right under your eyes. Under your envisioned self.
Everything else is just ‘noise’.
The song ‘Broken Promises’ that he released in April 2020 in collaboration with his friend Funny Factures has earned them the attention of audiences.
