Matt Epp Shows Us The Way On ‘Runaway’.

You think you’re getting a straight up contemporary country music. But have a deeper listen. With the combination of his vocal idiosyncrasies and the chorus, this single ‘Runaway’ is an exciting indie offering for that ‘wide open expanse’ that you always wanted to tackle and conquer.

Of course, there is a slide induced guitar solo. That’s just a capper to a fun song.

The core anchor of the single is modern country, but sure has a ‘Brooklyn-ish tinge’ that we cannot let go. Might be the ending organ solo that does it, we think.

Epp’s new album ‘Shadowlands’ is available now.

His recording team for the new album included: Aaron Goldstein, Jon Radford (drums in Steelism), Micah Hulscher (keys for Margo Price), ‘Champagne’ James Robertson (guitars for Lindi Ortega), Joel Couture (Matt’s long-time bassist), and the lovely background sounds of The O’Pears, Sweet Alibi and BrandyZdan.

We think that’s a fabulous mix, and you should try experiencing ‘Runaway’.
