Bonsound signed artist Mélissa Laveaux to their label. The Montreal, Canada native, currently living and working out of Paris, France, Laveaux mixes folk, blues, pop, Creole sub-influences to her music, describing and disseminating subject matter of seriousness or levity to the masses. She defines much of her make-up from her Haitian culture and heritage, driving the soulfulness and empathy to live and grow through her music.
Her new album ‘Radyo Siwèl’ is available now through Bonsound. ‘Angeli-ko’ is off of the new album, flavorfully playing with the fantastic art representation in the video, juxteposed by the heft of the subject within the song.
“This new album was created from rich tones and multiple musical influences. I always try to do something different on every album. I’ve always listened to hip-hop, I grew up with it. Rap, Brazilian music, trip-hop, and electronic music,” as she told Le Devoir.
