Mongoose’s Old Friend is such a cool song. Just comes down to that. The mix of lyrics, thoughts, their vocals, and melodic dramatics is a sweeping chug-a-chug-chug of a song that is accessible and lovable.
The ladies (Molly O’Mahony, Ailbhe Dunne, Muireann Ní Cheannabháin, Cara Dunne) are musicians to the hilt, on this song. So very innovative, daring, and touches upon many of the styles that are cinematically in tune.
Reminiscent of acts like Queen and Pink Floyd, the ups and downs, the profound grabbing of your hand – in urgent excitement efforts by the arrangement – one wants to follow their story telling.
Love their story telling.
Witness their story telling.
Be engrossed within their story telling.
Be entertained by their story telling.
From their own words, the four members are all songwriters. Which would be sensible, for the lyrical majesty we hear from their songs, do show the power of them contributing to the scores.
Their latest EP was offered and released in mid 2017, with fans who agree to what we’re saying here.
They are a joy to listen to, where ever one might be.
Hoping to see more from them in 2018.
We sure dig their body of work, and you should too.
Kudos, ladies. Kudos.
