Moon Wave ‘You Try To Figure It Out’ : Story of time, changes, heartbeats, and pattern renewals.

Moon Wave

There are times in life, for example during a quarantine, where you have so much time on your hands, that you start asking yourself the most important questions about your life. ‘You Try To Figure It Out’ is all about these moments, moments where the question is probably more important than the answer. But the one and only real answer we can give you, is that ‘You Try To Figure it Out’ is the last single of Moon Wave’s debut-EP ‘Carved In Sand’, and we sincerely hope you will enjoy it.

Created in Berlin by franco-german music producer Franz Matthews, Moon Wave is a story of time, changes, heartbeats, and pattern renewals.

The project first saw the light of day through a vocal appearance on PYRAME’s cosmic pop single ‘Platonic’. But today, Moon Wave is unfolding a new chapter that begins between Paris & Berlin, where Franz Matthews spent the 3 last years in the studio with his long time friend and collaborator, french producer Denise.

What you will find in this first opus is a bit of nostalgia from the glorious days of the french touch, a bit of the motoric & sweaty atmosphere of the legendary Berlin nightlife, some early 70s cosmic psychedelia, a bit of Brazilian rhythm heritage, and possibly a bit of Serge Gainsbourg’s sexiness too, until the story changes again the next time a wolf howls at the moon.

“This EP took a lot of time to produce, more than 5 years actually,” said Franz. “We really wanted to find our sound and to be as perfect as possible. Hence the name ‘Carved In Sand’, meaning that even if the tides wash things away over time, the love you put into crafting something always stays. Be it art, a project, relationships, or anything, the important things always remain…and that is exactly the point of ‘Carved In Sand’.”

Out now.

You asked about the lyrics of 'Song For Nick', well here they are! Leaving them to your own interpretation… "This is the story of Nick… The miseducation of a young boy, in a young mind. As Nick, at his dawn, tries to escape the mysteries of infinity He crawls through the danger zones, the cornerstones, shaping the story of his life Now Nick got wiser on his present state of mind He’s staring at the cage fencing in himself around He’s got all it takes to escape from the valley of the runes, run away, run away… If Nick plays it good he won’t know it anyway While if Nick plays it hard he might lose it all the way Nick was all set Ready to go down He had hatched his plan and jumped without a frown Once in the air, the realization dawned He fell into another cage of which he got the crown… Nick is a motherflipin´ creature, yo. But he can´t get along with the speed you know. Gold rush, cold crush, all of dem are robots Hush – lean back, hold up. King of the town, never bow down like an old clown. He strikes – with his own crown. Imagine everybody with a triple A pass. Creatures first – never the last You want it different, Switch it round, ah Got a heavy load, Like 100 pound, yeh Soul is naked so me use 100 procent unconscious i wonder until it blurs yeh Nick thinks he was destined for big things Looking for some fame and a way to get chi-ching It's just like a drug, this game is addicting He tried to take off but he failed with his clipped wings Ah, like da post I’m on time Like dat pope I make it round Sick of this man, Icarus I told you not to fly to close to the sun You can't just be knocking on one door and one time expect all the others to open at once You gotta put one foot in front of the other Slowly at first, if you're hoping to run He wanted it all, the whole fucking pie Now he's on the floor, broken and done Nick thinks about big things, things, it’s addicting, but he failed with his clipped wings. Yes, he failed. Too much fake and bling bling But maybe one day he can grow his own wings… #lyrics #songlyrics #nick
