The punk guitar riff driven indie-pop/rock band, Foundlings, serves up a tasty little tune named ‘Misery’. The contrast between the vocal work of Amber, and the guitar works is just like when you are deciding how much time you need to set for the microwave you’d never used before. The food is waiting for you. The food is telling you to “eat me”. But you’re in a slight quandary. But, oh, the anticipation.
‘Misery’ is that anticipation of what could become. ‘Misery’ is that world of possibilities – whether warming up that dinner in the microwave, or that Friday night with your mates.
Now, fifty seconds more than prescribed, will ‘fry’ that dinner. The microwave is taunting you. It can give you that perfectly warmed food. Or it will destroy it; hence, destroying your evening.
Two minutes and four seconds.
Hot, sizzling, contrasty, rockin’.
