“‘Emily’ is a song for my best friend, who died suddenly on August 15, 2011,” said Olivia Ellen Lloyd. “Her birthday is August 18. Best friends from early childhood, we were just beginning to embrace our adult-era friendship when she died due to complications from a medical condition while studying abroad in Australia. This is a love song to female friendship, a story of grief, and a remembrance of an incredibly real and loved person. This is the first single off of my upcoming album, ‘Loose Cannon’..”
Mike Robinson, John Fatum, Larry Cook and Michael Bellar joined Olivia for this exquisite story telling single. It was produced by Mike Robinson and recorded at Conveyor Studios in Brooklyn NY.
“This album stretches the length of my twenties which were quite literally all over the place. In the past eight years, I’ve lived in Ann Arbor, DC, Guatemala City, Dallas, and finally Brooklyn. I’ve suffered great heartache including the loss of my best friend and my father. It has not been an easy transition into adulthood.”
With fans, friends, and family supporting Olivia with “almost $10,000 to fund this album” her ambitions to tell her truths of her journey here on this earth, begins in ernest.
“In this work, I’ve tried to capture the grief and joy of the last ten years of my life,” said Olivia. “I’ve tried my best to be honest. I can’t wait to share this work with you.”
Loving and caring, Olivia’s nostalgic vocals see it all on the line, and tries ever so not to regret, and move forward.
“Loose Cannon” is set for release in early 2021.

Ok so i have some new followers! Thanks for coming to my page – i thought i might introduce myself a lil bit. I’m assuming you are here because heard my new single, Emily! Thank you for listening. That’s wild and cool. Lots of pics on my feed below describe the process and my inspiration for the song. I grew up in a small town in West Virginia (Shepherdstown) and i have a huge family. The picture by the corn stalks is just my dad’s side 😱 My dog hilly is my best bud. She is the queen, and i hope you like dog pics because this account is 30-80% dog yawns. I’m super inspired by my dad, who was also a musician. He died from pancreatic cancer in 2014, and it still is tough to do this without him. I recently got my hair trimmed on top of the Williamsburg bridge! @anthonypayne did it and it was exhilarating. I’m a bit of an adventure junkie so as you can imagine COVID has been tough (get tested often and wear a mask!). I’m going camping next week so hopefully I’ll scratch that adventure itch a bit. Im really proud of this possum logo i had made. My friend @zachwilliamshq added the trash. One day you will be able to buy things with it. Any picture where i look good was probably taken by @samguilbeaux (shout out to boob tape for helping me capture the first pic) The last pic is one of about a billion very hot selfies i take on a regular basis. I hope you like thirst traps!!!! in all honesty, thank you for listening to and engaging with me. I’m excited to share more music with you soon. Xoxox OEL
