Pikes ‘Juno’ : Life can be something very special, and when that opportunity comes – take it.

'Camp'

“This song is about feeling obsolete and undeserving of love while being madly in love with someone. ‘Juno’ was the roman goddess of femininity and at the time I wrote this song it felt like I was a mortal trying to court a goddess. (Now my girlfriend, so all good).”

As Pikes drives the nails of doom with the hammering of notions and impetuous curiosity, the urgency of this single, layered with the fabulous pacing – it shines with its own utter brilliance and pop heft. The idea began as a way of departing from an existence that was defined by rules and norms. The music is a mixture of synthesizers from the 80s, sampled / organic drums and large orchestral soundscapes that come together in a sound that borders between pop and movie score. Pikes is influenced by artists such as Peter Gabriel, Frank Zappa and Kate Bush.

Emotive exuberance comes forth with ‘Juno’. Life can be something very special, and when that opportunity comes – take it.

Pikes is Christoffer Ling.

‘Camp’ the LP is out now.
