Today, BIRTHDIY (net-label of Spirit Goth, out of Brooklyn) PREMIERES a split EP from two band: YR GLOW & CHARLES IRWIN. The four single EP offers 2 singles by each band, staying true their garage-pop and lo-fi spirit. With correlative and therapeutic licks from both of the bands, the unmistakably hip and upbeat rhythms of the singles are inherently perfect for those days of personal gloom and downtrodden emotions. The rain will pass, and with the YRWIN split, the sun-rays should pierce through fairly quickly.
The album is available now.
DIY / Lo-Fi is ‘subtlety’, in our eyes. You have to earn it, as a listener. It’s more pure than you can surmise, and very much a refreshing cascade over your senses, if you let it. The genesis is to let it, ‘become you’ or ‘let it wash over’ your day-to-day grind. The saw dust settles in that wood-shop class, and it’s time to dance on the piles of shaven wood on that concrete floor.
Do the shimmy.
Do the Watusi.
Do that thing you do with your ‘mosh-neck’ that you do so well.
Do it. Love it. Feel the warmth.
YR GLOW hails from Florida and the 4 piece band started off as a solo project, however, later congealed in to a fully multi-member band during a fresh start. They say they enjoy “hot licks, chips and salsa, and most importantly friendship”. We assume the latter comes to the top of that list, more often than not.
Charles Irwin is also a quatro-piece band from Tampa (Florida). And as YR GLOW, CI is a new band which started doing the circuit in 2017. The band plans on releasing a full-length debut by the end of 2018.
The Split will include singles:
- Yr Glow – Slowly
- Yr Glow – I Lost it in You
- Charles Irwin – Evil Games
- Charles Irwin – Inner Feelings
