R.I.P: Bernie Casey, of “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka” fame, has passed away at 78.

Casey was a former NFL football player for the San Francisco 49ers and for the Los Angeles Rams. He played total of 6 seasons, with 1 pro-bowl appearances.

Casey began his acting career in the film Guns of the Magnificent Seven, a sequel to The Magnificent Seven. Throughout the 70’s he’d gotten consistent amount of work.

In 1988, he was a character, playing himself as a football player, in Keenen Ivory Wayans’s 1988 comedic film I’m Gonna Git You Sucka. The film was an “American action comedy parody, written, directed, and starring Keenen Ivory Wayans. Several decades on, the film is a cult classic.

Bernie Casey will always be that character in I’m Gonna Git You Sucka, an honorable and trustworthy protagonist.

He passed on at 78.
