Always unique in all their ways, Rangleklods has been making dance inducing music ever since their debut. One-man-electronic-army Esben Nørskov Andersen is Rangleklods and just like he’s always done, the gritty production layers and absolutely delectable distinction in ‘Never Lie’ is cosmically cool.
Written, recorded, produced and performed by the one man electronic army, Esben fuses his love for pop melodies and immediacy with deep club grooves and brooding atmospherics. The sound is catchy, wide ranging and never boring, the African beats blend with the charms of the guitar licks with ease and fun.
Stated Esben: “It’s a weirdly uplifting song about being adrift and is about growing but not growing up.”
Agreed, totally.
“It’s about growing but not growing up,” added Esban. “To me it’s the soundtrack to a reckless summer night out and about, ending in a loud and dark nightclub dancing into the sunset.”
The video was made in self quarantine, pays homage to one of Esben’s favorite shows ‘Freaks and Geeks” and all of those ridiculous American high school movies from the 90s and 00s and ‘Clueless’, ‘Rushmore’, ‘Dazed and Confused’.
