Roosevelt – Teardrops

Roosevelt is a fan fave for a reason. Grooves, upon, grooves, upon grooves – textures that give rainbow highlights to his songs and enjoyment to his fans. And ‘Teardrops’ is no different.

However, for introducing his upcoming album, he’s decided to do his own interpretation of ‘Teardrops’ originally performed by the band Womak and Womak. W&W is an 80’s groove funk pop band, consisting of real life husband and wife team of Cecil and Linda.

It’s a teaser, for sure.

But the sensibilities of Roosevelt (Marius Lauber) is evident and (as all remixes should) freshens up each step of the song and takes it into another fun level.

We’d gotten to know Roosevelt with their hit song ‘Montreal’ and were drawn in quickly. We dug it a lot, you can say.

In ‘Teardrops’, the synth is increased, and the silkiness of the vocals just feels very Christopher Cross, and it’s delicious.

When listening to it, you just want your significant other to be next to you – maybe then hug, kiss, and dance!

It’s a cool, no stress thang.

Looking forward to his full album, due out in December 6, 2017.
