Rob and Matt have been friends since school, and have been experimenting together ever since, trying the styles they love. ‘Goldfish’ is a single they’d worked on for a long while, and they profess the love of playing it live in front of an audience. The song is straight up rock-pop, heightened with a very very distinct vocals that bleeds a bit of country.
“Most recently we’ve really been in to our country music which has given us the fixation on a summer sound and big guitar solos which are littered through our live set.”
We at CHF love country, folk, and bluegrass. And we feel where they are coming from – even if it’s at arm’s length.
The song keeps on bringing us to that right mix and balance between saccharine pop and indie pop. The duo seems to have done it the right way, and splashes the listener with fresh rhythms anyone can get behind.
“We wanted to take our time and get things right with this one so we decided on a pure pop orientated summer sound that is straight up fun to play and hear live.” – Rob
The duo is still trying to find their niche and confidence to go to the next level, as they suggest. However, we at CHF think the guys have something going for them. And this is evident in the direction of the song they’ve constructed, with an output already deserving of more ears.
“It’s very early doors for the band. Although we’ve been knocking about for what feels like forever… we’re only just getting started! We plan big fun live shows and more smile bringing pop tunes!”
Lovin’ the energy, right? Heck yea, we agree.
Word, lads. Word.
Keep on truckin’ and looking forward to even greater things from you two.
