Rosalie ‘Gold (Acoustic)’ : Dreams can come true and hearts can heal if you put the work in and just. Keep. Going.

“I wrote this song in my living room after being flooded with grief,” said Rosalie. “I was processing the loss of my dad, and I just started writing to help try to work through some of the heaviness and mud. I had been inspired to write after scrolling through Facebook and seeing a post about the kintsugi tradition in Japan. In kintsugi, broken pieces of pottery are welded back together with gold instead of being thrown away. The idea is that they become more beautiful for having been broken. When I saw this, it struck me and I felt like it was a metaphor for my life.

Gold is the second song off of a 2-song double single project called Alchemy, and the first song is called Fool’s Gold. ”

Alchemy is my first release after an autoimmune condition left me with no singing voice and not knowing if I’d ever be able to sing again. By releasing these two songs together, I sought to make a concept record that shows the power of transformation — how we can spin the devastating and hurtful experiences of our lives into something golden. The song Gold and this entire project are prime examples of that.”

Dreams can come true and hearts can heal if you put the work in and just. Keep. Going.
