“‘Alright’ is an ode to a few of the places I love most about my home city, Toronto,” said Rose Brokenshire. “Accompanied by a simultaneous frustration and understanding of our current predicament.”
In ‘Alright’, Rose’s belongings of the past, linger with a tantalizing juices of what’s to come. Fully realized and invested in the aura of a place and in time, Rose’s un-fettered gumption for the things that make her be who she really can be, nurtures her with grains of knowledge and the perpetual supplements of a fully engaged life.
Growing up in the city, left her with a vast desire to be closer to nature, ultimately leading her north to become a Forest Firefighter, and subsequently putting her writing and performing to a halt. The change of environment caused a great shift in her introspection and desire to grow.
With vocals that touch edges of the traditions Donna Lewis brought in her career, in the fall of 2019, Rose released ‘Six Years’, the final collection of her favorite unreleased songs written almost six years ago.
