In the run-up to her expected release of her sophomore album ‘Confidence. Truth’ (March 30th), the Bulgarian singer-songwriter Ruth Koleva shares a new single and a live video for the song ‘Didn’t I’. The piano ballad cries over your bed soaked solitary exercises in the bedroom of the heart. Longing, loved, preserving memories to the best possible ways.
“I wrote this song about nostalgia. Nostalgia on the past, all the times you thought things could’ve been different. It’s that moment, when you look back and think ‘It was so much better’ and then, you realize that nothing in the present is the same as your projection. I happened to move back to my childhood neighborhood few months back, and ‘Didn’t I get back home?’ was the question I’ve been asking myself ever since. Time changes everything and the only moment we truly exist is now.”
The 10 song album will feature Ron Avant (Anderson .Paak) on keys, Jameel Bruuner (The Internet) on synths, and Gene Coye (Flying Lotus) on drums.
Go get ’em Ruth.
