Samuel Reinard is the project named RYVAGE. And since 2017, the Luxembourg based electronica artist and producer has driven through to this point of his career with an evergreen burning desire to contrast and isolate the goodness that comes with his outputs. Synth-driven and heavy in texture, the salinity perpetuates through the garment of his works, bringing out naturally the excitement that you’d expect.
‘Another Day Another Time’ (originally by Sun Glitters 2018) is his latest synth-wave/outrun variant and rework, does exactly that. With a tinge of dark-synth along the way, the chorus of this single grips with an iron hand, and doesn’t want to let you go.
Samuel’s personal obsession with the 80s and scifi movie soundtracks, industrial electronica, and electro-pop keeps the visions varied and wide.
RYVAGE means ‘shore’ and as Samuel puts it: ““My homebase Luxembourg is landlocked. It can be claustrophobic to live in such a small country. To me, making music is like driving to the sea, sitting at the shore and contemplating the horizon. It is a safe and beautiful place where you can be in the moment and let your imagination go wild. I also like the idea of being on the threshold of two worlds or elements.”
He’s played at festivals like Food for Your Senses (LU), Siren’s Call (LU), les Aralunaires (BE) and Zikametz (F) and opened for artists such as Liars (US), Blanck Mass (UK) and Throwing Snow (UK). Has worked with artists like multi- award-winning composer and jazz vibraphonist Pascal Schumacher (LU), Stimming and Paul Frick.
