New Zealand electronic duo SACHI reestablish their rightful place on the dancefloor with single, ‘You (à la)’.Keeping in mind the restraints of the lockdown period, when creating ‘You (à la)’, the pair were infatuated with the fantasy of live shows in an unprecedented time where gigs are forbidden.
The duo consisting of Will Thomas and Nick Chrisp spent a large amount of their lockdown downtime writing at home and by way of wishful thinking the club-ready EDM punch of ‘You (A La)’ was produced.
“Around this time every year we usually do an overseas writing trip, so this internet collaboration was kinda the next best thing for us, and it pushed us to work with people we might not under normal circumstances,” Will says of the song’s unconventional process,” said Will.
Nick adds, “We’re one of the only markets in the world doing shows right now, we’re so excited to share the song with Kiwis coming back out and dancing together, but we still wanted it to sound great in headphones or around the house too, as a form of escapism for the people around the world who still can’t go out dancing.”
‘You (A La)’ follows SACHI’s early 2020 single ‘Enchante’, and their 2019 sophomore EP, Nights With Ruby, which has amassed over 25 million streams. This past Summer the pair embarked on an extensive Summer festival run, playing in front of over 100,000 fans at Rhythm & Vines, Northern Bass, SoundSplash, Six60 Saturday’s and many more.
