What a day to have such good vibes coming from SAMBASSADEUR. They’re back. And after a 7+ years of hiatus, the beloved band from Sweden starts where they’d paused, with spread of warmth and idilic lyrical goodness.
Their 4th album ‘Survival’ will drop April 12th, and the world (we surmise) can’t wait.
A collaboration between producer Mattias Glavå and the band, the first single off of the new album ‘Foot Of Afrikka’ is a delicate sweep of pastel colors hinged on a collective delight of indie-country/folk extravagance and tinge of 80’s pop sax.
“The song was recorded during a morning in Solna, we had missed sending the song in advance, so no one had heard it when we started but it went well anyway,” the band stated. “Half the album is recorded in Stockholm, always great to get away for a while. To “get away” and that people have different ways of doing that is sort of what this song is about. ”
The music video was recorded indoors in Gothenburg Sweden, with Samuel Peterson directing. It summarizes a triumphant return to the spotlight for the band, as the glorious sunshine that will inevitably shine upon them, will ultimately be our gain.
‘Survival’ is self released by the band under their own record label, European Records.
